Avenham/Miller Parks Colonnade Ongoing Priority' Reports of underage drinking around the Belvedere, Colonnade and Miller Parks, Various locations. Drug dealing activity from groups of males, Groups gathering through parks. ASB. .

 

Smith Rec : Residents have highlighted, during hours of darkness, groups of youths are in these areas wearing dark clothing. Residents feel vulnerable. / Recent criminal damage to a number of vehicles in the area, currently under investigation. These youths are drinking and possibly drug dealing/ using whilst on the park.

 

Frenchwood Street car park : ASB in the area with an ongoing problems with drug dealings

 

 

 

October

 

Avenham/Miller Parks Colonnade Ongoing Priority' The neighbourhood/response officers have conducted 26 high visibility patrols in area of Avenham/ Miller parks during the month of October.  This was conducted many times during each shift. Groups have been stopped and moved on.

 

Smith Rec : The neighbourhood/response officers have conducted 53 high visibility patrols to the area during the month of October.NHPT have increased patrols and Operation Dresden which involves all CBM’s and PCSO’s has been put in place to combat this anti-social and criminal behaviour.  

 

 

Frenchwood Street car park : The neighbourhood/response officers have conducted 41 high visibility patrols to the area during the month of October.

 

September

Ward Area . PACT have highlighted the need for a residents association in this area. In order to access funding for Avenham/ Frenchwood. To help in the funding of CCTV and community youth activities to remove groups off the streets

 

August

July

 

Avenham/Miller Parks Colonnade Reports of underage drinking around the Belvedere, Colonnade and Miller Parks, Various locations. Drug dealing activity from groups of males. Groups gathering through parks. ASB. Neighbourhood/ Response officers have made a total of 74 visits/patrols to the parks during the month of July.   

 

 

Oxford Oxford Green/ Herschell St ASB/Damage, Reports of youths throwing stones and golf balls at people and premises. Neighbourhood/ Response officers have made a total of 51 visits/patrols to the area during the month of July.

During the month there have been no reports of youths throwing stones and golf balls at people or premises.  

 

Smith's Rec/ Selborne St ASB/Drug dealing, reports of youths under age drinking and smoking, intimidating local residents. Reports of drug activity late evening. Neighbourhood/ Response officers have made a total of 53 visits/patrols to the area during July

 

 

June

 

Avenham/Miller Parks Colonnade Reports of underage drinking around the Belvedere, Colonnade and Miller Parks, Various locations. Neighbourhood/ Response officers have made a total of 30 visits/patrols to the parks during the month of June. During the month the parks have seen a decrease in damage offences.  

 

CHADDOCK ST/ AVENHAM RD. ASB, Reports of youths putting glass milk bottles on front door handles, bottles containing body fluids. Neighbourhood/ Response officers have made a total of 24 visits to the street a number of reassurance visits made to local residents.

During the month there have been no reports of youths putting glass milk bottles on door handles.  

 

May

 

Avenham/Miller  Parks Reports of underage drinking around the Belvedere along with drug dealing. There are also reports of an increase in activity along the wooded area adjacent to the old tram bridge.The NHPT have conducted regular patrols through park areas, on foot and on bikes, groups have been and will continue to be, spoken to and moved on. This is an ongoing issue and will remain a priority

Cadogan Place, Bushell Place and Frenchwood Street  Reports received concerning an increase in gang activity around these area’s with youths coming in from outside the area. Also reports of vagrants on Bushell Place with the advent of better weather.The NHPT have conducted regular foot and mobile patrols in this area, groups of youths have been spoken to and had alcohol confiscated. With the introduction of Op Détente, CBM’s have  targeted group members, using police powers, these groups have been searched and dealt with for any offences present. Vagrants have been and will continue to be moved on

Parking Parking is still a major issue for residents especially around St Augustines School when children are going to/coming home from schoo on Hudsonl. Carr St is again a cause for concern with vehicles blocking pavements. The NHPT have attended these locations and issued a number of fixed penalty notices for the offence of Obstruction of the Highway. On some occasions, vehicles have been removed. We will continue to educate drivers

 

 

April

 

PARKING ISSUES: Tenby Rd , Silver St , Charlotte Place, Hudson St , Tiber St , Arno St , Carr St , Larkhill Rd and Larkhill St. Vehicles continue to double park, block pavements and dropped kerbs.

Hi-vis patrols are ongoing in the area’s of concern with 25 FPN tickets issued to vehicles in the Avenham area around Carr St, Charlotte Place and Larkhill Rd

Juvenile nuisance in and around Guildford Rd , Oxford St, Clara St and Oxford Green. Local youths, ages 8 to 15, regularly hang around dwellings in these areas creating a nuisance for elderly residents

Hi-vis patrols being conducted with active involvement with local youths, a number of parents spoken to in the area of Oxford St with no negative feed back from parent(s).

 

SPID ( Speed Indicator Device). There are a number of identified locations which still require brackets to be secured to the posts on which the SPIDS are to be erected. Contact will be made to Lancashire County Council to expedite the necessary work. Mounting boards are already installed at two identified spots on London Rd and Queen St. Mr Cox, the highways engineer for LCC, has been contacted and he will erect the remainder in due course. These areas are: Manchester Rd , Malvern Avenue and the Boulevard

Mr Cox at LCC has now been spoken to and it would appear some of the lamp posts are not strong enough to hold the SPID, therefore new posts will be put in place in due course.

NHPT HAVE BEEN ON PATROL WITH MEMBERS OF THE NEAT TEAM AND A NUMBER OF AREA’S CLEANED, IN PARTICULAR, TO THE REAR OF AVENHAM TERRACE. A NUMBER OF LETTERS HAVE BEEN SENT TO RESIDENTS AND PATROLS ARE ONGOING TO IDENTIFY ANY FUTURE PROBLEM AREAS

Manchester Rd, Selborne Stret Parking

PATROLS AROUND CARDINAL NEWMAN, CHARLOTTE PLACE, SILVER STREET AND BERWICK ROAD HAVE BEEN ONGOING WITH A NUMBER OF FPN ISSUED FOR WILFUL OBSTRUCTION OF THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND WILL REMAIN A PRIORITY FOR THE NHPT AND STAFF OF THE COLLEGE
