Area actions for November

 

Robin Street Anti Social Behaviour : Anti-social behaviour and damage in the area generally caused by local juveniles.

 

Porter Street speeding motorists and vehicle noise nuisance : Cars are speeding in the area causing a danger to pedestrians. Vehicles with noisy exhausts being driven during the early hours causing noise nuisance to residents

 

Blackpool Road shops Juvenile Nuisance :Juveniles are hanging around in gangs and drinking causing local residents to feel intimidated

 

 

October

 

Robin Street Anti Social Behaviour : Anti-social behaviour and damage in the area generally caused by local juveniles. High visibility patrols have continued. Numerous agencies have started the process to bring new and better youth provision into the area. We anticipate that this will expand on the work that the Neighbourhood Policing Team and it’s partners has already done to tackle this issue

 

Deepdale Street parking issues : Numerous Private sale vehicles parked reducing parking spaces for residents The area has been visited by uniformed patrols 27 times October. Two vehicles were found illegally parked and action was taken

 

Public perception that Gateway CCTV cameras do not work : In some areas covered by Gateway CCTV residents are under impression that the cameras do not work. Residents report feeling unsafe and are reluctant to report incidents to Police as a result A Newsletter explaining the use and benefits of the CCTV system has been produced by the St Matthews team and distributed in the PACT meeting. The Newsletter is to be further distributed to residents. Regular monthly updates are to be given during PACT meetings

 

 

September

 

Robin Street Anti Social Behaviour : Anti-social behaviour and damage in the area generally caused by local juveniles. High visibility patrols have continued. Frome St / Tunbridge Place Anti Social behaviour.: Rowdy residents / Drug dealing and rowdy behaviour on Tunbridge Place Recent Drugs warrant in area is reported to have drastically reduced Anti Social behaviour in area. Residents report area to now be very quiet

 

Criminal damage on Dickson Avenue : There have been numerous incidents where residents vehicles and gardens have been damaged over recent months. High Visibility patrols during evenings and Police intervention with a Robin St group of youths passing through Dickson Avenue have led to no further instances of Damage or Anti Social Behaviour

 

 

August

Numerous agencies have started the process to bring new and better youth provision into the area. We anticipate that this will expand on the work that the Neighbourhood Policing Team and it’s partners has already done to tackle this issue.

Frome St / Tunbridge Place Anti Social behaviour.: Rowdy residents / Drug dealing and rowdy behaviour on Tunbridge Place Nuisance caused by juveniles and rowdy neighbours who are being noisy. Gateway is working on having the fence between Tunbridge Place and Calverley Street replaced. There has been a new Neighbourhood Watch scheme set up in the area with the assistance of Unity FM.

Rear of Skeffington Rd / Wilbraham St area anti social behaviour : Youth Anti Social Behaviour including running through residents gardens and climbing over garden fences causing annoyance to residents.Extensive high visibility patrols have been conducted around the area. Unity FM have secured funding for anti-climb paint to be applied to the fence at the back of the properties on Skeffington Road and this is currently with a caretaker awaiting actioning. Visits have been conducted by the Neighbourhood Policing Team to the home addresses of local children warning them of the consequences if the poor behaviour continues

 

 

 

July

 

Robin Street and Thompson Street Anti-social behaviour and damage in the area generally caused by juveniles High visibility patrols have continued. There have been three Antisocial Behaviour Contract breaches from various youths which are now being used as evidence towards future Antisocial Behaviour Orders (ASBO). Further joint visits with Gateway Housing to problem addresses have been conducted.

 

Porter Street Drug dealing and anti-social behaviour occurring in the area. High visibility patrols have continued in the area. A day of action around the Porter Street/Peel Hall Street was conducted in July 2009 in partnership with Unity FM, the Council and Gateway Housing in order to increase the appeal of the area. Progress in this area has resulted in this being removed from PACT priority list. Work will continue but not as a PACT priority for the time being

 

Frome Street Juvenile and Neighbour Nuisance : Nuisance caused by juveniles and rowdy neighbours who are being noisy Nuisance caused by juveniles and rowdy neighbours who are being noisy. Tunbridge Place is now a PACT priority with particular attention to be given to reports of Drug  Dealing on street.

SHORT TERM

 

Robin Street and Thompson Street Anti-social behaviour and damage in the area generally caused by juveniles with the new issue of motorcycle nuisance and stone throwing.High visibility patrols have continued. There have been three Antisocial Behaviour Contract breaches from various youths which are now being used as evidence towards future Antisocial Behaviour Orders (ASBO). Further joint visits with Gateway Housing to problem addresses have been conducted.

 

Porter Street Drug dealing and anti-social behaviour occurring in the area. High visibility patrols have continued in the area. Wilbraham Street : Local youths playing football in the street with little regard for damaging property and causing a noise nuisance. Affected properties include those on Skeffington Road with rear gardens backing on to Wilbraham Street High visibility patrols have been carried out. Some problem causers from Callon have been identified and they have been told to not frequent the area. Reports from residents have shown this problem to be subsiding.
