Area actions for November
Cars Parking on Pavement : Due to complaints received of cars obstructing the pavements on Waterloo Road – monitor the area and ticket any vehicles found to be causing an obstruction
Start up Neighbourhood Watch Scheme : Following thefts of wheelie bins on Oswald Road – try to start up interest in a Neighbourhood Watch scheme for that area
ASB around Brampton Street : Due to complaints about young children (5-6yrs olds) causing ASB around Brampton Street/Waterloo Terrace area – attempt to identify these youths and speak with them and their appropriate adults.

Theft of bicycles : Due to recent thefts of cycles around the Blackpool Road and surrounding streets in the last month – to continue with the theft awareness campaign in this area Crime prevention letter, regarding pedal cycle/moped thefts delivered to residents, e-mails sent to Neighbourhood Watch co-coordinators and Ashton mailing list. Bike coding completed on request ASB around Brampton Street : Due to complaints about young children (5-6yrs olds) causing ASB around Brampton Street/Waterloo Terrace area – attempt to identify these youths and speak with them and their appropriate adults. Neighbourhood Policing Team has given strong words of advice to a group of local children approximately 5-12 yrs. This group is responsible for the Anti Social Behaviour around Brampton Street. The group will be monitored over the coming weeks.

Ashton Residents News letter : There is lack of Community information for Ashton residents. A news letter will be produced by the Ashton communities Together News Letter Committee. This will be hand delivered to residents with relevant information about the area. The sub committee met at St Andrews Church Hall on Tuesday 29/09/09 at 6 pm. Articles were collated that could go into the first newsletter and hopefully this should be produced in the next month.
Bike Theft : Due to the recent increase in the number of bicycle thefts, make residents Aware of the need for added security Crime prevention letter, regarding pedal cycle/moped thefts delivered to residents, e-mails sent to Neighbourhood Watch co-coordinators and Ashton mailing list. Speeding / traffic issues on Egerton Road and St Andrews Avenue. : On going speeding/traffic issues Funding application has been submitted to Western Area Forum on behalf of Ashton Neighbourhood Policing Team to purchase a Speed Indicator Detector. This has subsequently been rejected.Volunteers have completed the SPID Training.

Speeding on Egerton Rd / St Andrews Ave Funding application has been submitted to Western Area Forum on behalf of Ashton Neighbourhood Policing Team to purchase a Speed Indicator Detector. Volunteers have completed the Speed Indicator Detector Training.
Residents Association / PACT Newsletter : The sub committee will meet at St Andrews Church Hall on Tuesday 29/09/09 at 6 pm. This will be to collate all the information/articles needed to produce the Ashton Communities Together News letter July
Residents Association / PACT Newsletter : Continue with the establishment of the Ashton Communities Together newsletter The Newsletter Committee have received a few articles for the newsletter but are still waiting for others before the newsletter can be produced Burglary awareness : Following the recent burglaries in the Egerton Road area to continue the burglary awareness campaign incorporating this months Force-wide awareness campaign – ‘Operation Julius' Continued with the letter drop and door-to-door enquiries when burglaries had occurred. Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators informed. The force wide anti burglary campaign - ‘Operation Julius’ undertaken Speeding on Egerton Rd / St Andrews Ave : Local County Councillor Jewell has been tasked with making enquiries into the progress at County Hall in relation to the speeding problem. County Councillor Jewell has made contact with Paul Dunn at Lancashire County Council and will be discussing the issues within the next month
