Complaints of speeding on Navigation way / Marina Way

Speeding remains a problem around the Dockland area and this is being addressed in part by the agreement to provide Red markings and some signage in the area, however, this cannot take place until the weather improves.  In the short term residents asked if measures could be considered to monitor the cars and speeds, any findings would support the push for traffic calming.

Litter – Police will continue to issue fines to any individuals seen to be throwing litter into the roads and/or surrounding areas. The local council to be approached to consider additional or larger bins in the area.

Complaints of speeding on Navigation Way and Marina Way

Anti Social Behaviour/Damage – Incidents of graffiti are increasing in the area.  The Police do assist by providing cleaning kits and the local council respond to particular reported incidents and remove the graffiti.  Efforts continue to keep the area clear which then reduces the temptation for others.

Speeding – PCSO Sharon Noble has spoken with the local council and established that they are intending to lay road markings along Navigation Way in the New Year.  These will include SLOW signs and raised markings on the road surface. Investigations continue into the ability to acquire the use of SPID’s as the council hold the brackets, but there is only one SPID device which is loaned out to areas upon request.  PCSO Sharon Noble is to speak with colleagues to establish how to book this machine. Councillor Jack Davenport will provide the lessons learned from the Broadgate area that was successful in acquiring such a device.

Litter – the council do empty the bins around the dock area, however the capacity of the bins often results in overflowing rubbish which attracts birds who scatter the refuse further.  In addition local fast food outlets do either employ or direct members of staff to collect rubbish within their localised area.
