Anti Social Behaviour : Lea : Sheffield drive & brook Place Cottam : Local ParksDue to high visibility patrols and the use of the ASB vehicle, we have been able to respond faster to ASB call outs and reduce the number of ASB problems within Lea & Cottam. The ASB vehicle has proved very successful and will continue throughout the Bonfire period. Youths responsible for the Anti – social behaviour around Brook Place have been identified and parents advised but will continue to monitor this area.
Speeding Traffic : Blackpool Rd By Pig & Whistle Traffic Officer PC Gary Alty completed speed enforcement on Blackpool Rd, after Pig /Whistle towards the Lea Gate. Results of motorists speeding on a number of occasions at 93/94mph between 6am-7am. Other motorists were caught at 68mph and 74mph. Fixed penalty notices were issued.
Youth Facillities Unfortunately no youths from Lea/Cottam area attended the Pact Meeting. They were invited to the meeting but failed to appear. This issue was briefly discussed but will be raised again at the next meeting

SPEEDING TRAFFIC: LEA – Lea Lane & Lea Road LEA TOWN– Darkinson Lane Traffic Officer PC Gary Alty completed speed enforcement on Lea Lane, Lea Road, Darkinson Lane. There were no reported speeding incidents.
DOG FOULING : COTTAM – Preston City Council dog watch area 2009 – Cottam school path. Local parks and ‘The Green’, opposite primary school.There has been no feedback from the dog watch scheme. Cllr.Buttle is not sure how this will work? Update at the next meeting. No persons/animals responsible for dog fouling have been reported to the local Neighbour hood Policing Team.

• SPEEDING TRAFFIC : Linked in with Traffic officers, National Summer Drink Drive Campaign and conducted speed enforcement & breath testing on Cottam Way and Blackpool Road. No reported speeding or drink driving incidents As part of a National Summer Drink Drive Campaign, traffic officers conducted a speed enforcement & breath test on Cottam Way, Cottam & Blackpool Road Lea. No reported speeding or drink drive incidents.
• DOG FOULING COTTAM – Dog fouling warning signs distributed around parks within Cottam, interactions made with dog owners checking/encouraging use of poop collection bags. Steve Mawdesley has instructed the contactors to place a new dog foul bin at the end of Old Valentine’s Lane, leading to Millers Lane. Cllr Christine Abram has contacted Sash Essuah-Mensah, from Preston City Council regarding dog fouling issues and maintenance within the park off Cottam Green. Update at next meeting . HCA has placed a new dog foul bin on the Merrytrees Lane end of ‘Old Valentine’s Walk’. This was meant to be placed near to Millers Lane. HCA to monitor it use and if can be moved, if needed. PCSO June Anyon to liaise with HCA.

Anti-Social Behaviour (Cottam – Greenside & Surrounding Area) High visibility patrol undertaken regularly by Neighbourhood Policing Team and assisted by colleagues, primarily at peak demand times. Several groups dispersed from the green near to Greenside, Cottam. One group warned and youth referral issued to deter further issues
Speeding Traffic within Lea & Cottam PS Brown is in the process of arranging speed enforcement in the Lea area and schools need to be contacted to arrange a date for the children to attend (pathway)

April High visibility patrol undertaken regularly by Neighbourhood Policing Team and assisted by colleagues, primarily at peak demand times. Several groups dispersed from the green near to Greenside, Cottam. This has become a regular problem to residents in the area. This is a PACT priority for May and to be monitored by PCSO 7228 June Anyon & PCSO 7839 Dan Hull.
Speed enforcement was carried out on Hoyles Lane by PC 6965 Dan White, PCSO 7228 June Anyon and 7021 Gareth Davis.

Anti-social behaviour (Halloween) Inconsiderate parking around homes & schools PCSO Anyon has spoken to the builders on Cottam Green and they have agreed to park further up the street. We are still awaiting confirmation from Parkwise, to see if Cottam Primary, Lea & Endowed and Lea St Mary’s Primary Schools are on their tasking priorities list.
