Over all the area has been tidied up. It’s still going on not on streets but it’s still going on.

Targeting problem of people buying drugs who are knocking on resident’s window thinking it is where drugs are supplied.

September

Prostitution Further girls have been arrested. Girls have moved onto other areas.

There will be at least one operation disperse a month on St Matthews and also on St. Georges/Town.

The ‘Street pastors’ are not to do with the police. They are there for the

Girl’s to talk to. They will have disruptive effect as they wear jackets.

There was a recent attack of a street worker. This concerned the police.

One male has been arrested. Hopefully this will be isolated incident.

Prostitution should still be a PACT issue as it is an ongoing issue.

Concern with Thorn Street and street workers going there.

Extra patrols to go around the above street.

It was mention that there is ‘no street prostitution in Blackpool’

There are other issues with brothels etc.

Castleton Road disused Railway bridge. Deepdale CBM is in contact with

Network Rail. They will be doing some work on this bridge.

Network Rail will want some monitoring of the bridge after work is done.

Can people keep an eye on the bridge once work is done. Report issues to

Prime focus or Unity.

It was mentioned ‘For the amount of people who use it can it not be

demolished’

Network Rail will probably not spend the money to demolish it.

Drug dealing. Major problems in Peel Hall St. area. ‘It’s got out of hand’

(Around Peel Hall Street, Pole Street and Graham Street.)

People have been kicked out of this area.

Problem with people taking over other peoples tenancy agreements.

Needles have been found in the areas.

A lot of things go on but people are scared of been labelled as a ‘grass’.

Problems with people banging on windows of houses thinking drugs are

been dealt from there.

Things are been done but it will take time as the problem is chipped away

at.

The area has lots of one bedroom flats so lots of people who move on a

lot move into them.

June May

Prostitution. Another dispersal operation was conducted over three days. Resulted in. 19 prostitute cautions, and 5 are on their last warning.

The cautions are recorded locally and can be used in evidence.

Outreach workers have noticed fewer prostitutes about but they may have been pushed to other areas such as St. Paul’s Road.

Effort will be required in this area as it is often a circle of crime, arrest, fine, back out and then starts again.

An ASBO could work in this situation but there are a lot of guidelines for police and judges to follow.

A lot of prostitutes and their clients are not from Preston.

Gillette St. residents have raised concerns.

A general discussion on prostitution followed.

Letters to ‘kerb crawlers’ have been sent out.

Parking Issues – further patrols have been done. Hairdressers shop manageress has been spoken to. A joint patrol with Parkwise is happening on 3rd July 12.00-15.00.
