Area actions for April

 

ASB on the Estate Plain vehicles have been used and regular patrols of the area and interventions with local youths have been carried out. The calls to service regarding anti social behaviour are currently lower than in previous months.

Garage on Burholme place being used as a den The garage is currently secure and the ownership of the land has now been resolved with the owner taking responsibility for the garage. There have been no reports to police regarding issues around the garage.

Litter being dropped despite bins being provided Mainly on burnslack rd and pope lane shops  Comments were made at the meeting at how clean and tidy these areas have been. The original complainant of this issues wasn’t present to add further comment.

Buses Youths are beginning to ride on the back of buses again and cause damage to them       Operation Trojan has again been conducted in the area and time spent on the buses and working with Preston City Council Safer Travel unit. There have been no damage to buses over the last month.

Moor Nook Community Centre - Not open enough in the evenings for youth provision

There was nothing provided for younger youths to do. The centre have now  appointed a new full time member of staff and the older group have now  been moved to a Friday allowing for the younger group to use the centre on

a Thursday with the use of community volunteers

Dog Fouling

      One voice and Councillor Pomfret have liaised with the Dog wardens who have   visited the alleged offenders   and offered advice regarding fouling and keeping dogs on leads, aswell as spending time on the estate to tackle the issue

Scrambler Bikes- on pavements no helmets carrying others

Extra patrols in the area by neighbourhood policing team, response and traffic officers. Very few reports throughout the month of march and no bike witnessed by officers whilst on the estate

Underage drinking- Groups of young girls of ii upwards walking through the estate drinking and being rowdy

Regular high visibility patrols have been carried out in the specified areas at the specified times. There has been one Alcohol seizure however this was in a different part of the estate and not in relation to the group complained about. This was the only occasion any youths have been located with alcohol or having drank it. Residents also report that the issue has gone quiet
