Or ring Crimestoppers.

Hartington Rd Pavilion  Threat of further damage and arson

The Pavilion, Hartington Road

After the police hut was set on fire the police do have a suspect’s name.  The repair work has now been completed and the premises are now well alarmed.  They are hoping that there may be a floodlight focussed on the building in the near future as an even bigger deterrent.

September

Suspicious Drug dealing activity on Good Street & Euston Street

Good Street

Thanks to Councillor Crompton and the Parks department from the Council, following a police request, the shrubs and bushes on Good Street have now been cut back somewhat which has opened the area up a little, giving better visibility. Further proposals are intended in making the area more secure, although this perhaps will come down to funding.

Lights on the bridge joining Broadgate with Leyland Road

Cllr.Bhikhu Patel reported a new application for financial year 2006/07 to erect suitable lights along the bridge is to be made. Previous applications have failed on grounds that no individual authority had sufficient funds to cover the expense on their own.

The success of this application will be based upon all the Councils involved, and other agencies that CBM Ingram has approached to co-fund the project: the key to this will be the need to co-ordinate the Council officers efforts..

Run security marking event at St. Stephen’s School.

The school was opened and Jack Davenport, CBM Marsden, and the Street Crime Wardens all attended. Sadly ,only a handful of residents took advantage of the service.

(Comment from Secretary – Its important to recognise that we are a Broadgate Action Group and not a Council or Police action group. The strengths of our meetings are down to the fact that we meet regularly and residents attend in number. Real success will come when we act as and serve in the community not just on a Wednesday evening but in the wider life of the area we live in.)

Letter to Courts regarding repeat offenders in the Community.
