CCTV for Floyd Road : Gangs of youths gathering on Floyd Road , believed to be involved in drug activity, ASB causing problems for local residents and businesses Having spoken with local MAPPS Officer regarding the funding of CCTV it seems that there is no current Police funding available for this, however having described fully the issues surrounding FLOYD ROAD and the Greenland’s area in general, this Officer has stated she will begin looking for any funding grants for ‘Neighbourhood Improvements’ that may be applicable to Greenland’s. Local Officers are also currently enquiring into funding regarding a possible shelter for local youths – looking to prevent them from ‘hanging around’ the Floyd Road area. This is still in the initial enquiry stages but is problem solving outlook to the Floyd Road issue with less financial implications that CCTV.
Dangerous driving of Motorbikes around the estate : Individuals riding/ racing motorbikes and mini motos around the estate in a dangerous manner causing concern for residents One report of motorcycle nuisance has been made this month, Officers attended but the vehicle had since made off from the scene. Local officers are fully aware of local nominal’s believed responsible for this and are fully informed as to how to prepare summons files regarding this offence. In previous months several local nominal’s have been summonsed to court regarding dangerous driving, however this month no nominal’s have been identified as driving dangerously in the area.
Litter on Floyd Road : Residents have noticed that from a Thursday evening and throughout the weekend, youths gathering on Floyd Road are leaving rubbish behind on the street Local Community Officers, Support Officers and aligned response Officers have been made aware of this issue and encouraged to issue fixed penalty notices to anyone seen littering in the area and not responding when asked to pick up this litter. As yet, no fixed penalties have been issued. The council Officer responsible for such issues has been informed of the priority and as yet no reply has been given.
