Criminal Damage and Theft from Vehicles: PC Eccles and PCSO Lakeland have requested that it be left on the list of priorities for the foreseeable future, due to the continuing problems in the neighbouring area. Anti-social Behaviour Blanch Street/Watery Lane Shops/Dockland Street: Antisocial Behaviour has increased in these areas and the youths need to be identified and the appropriate action taken. Traders Association: The distribution of photos of known offenders to be distributed to the shops in Ashton area.
July 1 Criminal Damage There has been a slight increase in crime in the Ashton area and this is possibly due to the good weather and school holidays. The police are trying to keep ahead of this and continue their work to reduce crime levels in the area by extra patrols made of the “hot spots”.
2 Anti social Behaviour (Lane Ends Anti-social behaviour around Hunniball Court/Haslam Park/Catholic Care Services is slightly up on last month, this rise is also put down to the weather and school holidays. The Ashton area is being targeted in particular in the control of criminal damage. Lea Station now has the use of Graffiti Removal Kits which can be used to remove the damage as soon as it is reported. Hopefully this will deter any further damage/graffiti being done. Haslam Park and the problem with youths is being kept in hand. Football nuisance in the Waterloo Road area has been dealt with. The youths have been spoken to and this seems to have solved the problem. Football nuisance in the Oswald Road area has also been dealt with. The youths along with their parents have been spoken too and the problem seems to have stopped. St Andrews are looking at painting the railings and cutting back some of the trees but they are still waiting for the architect to come back on other matters.

March
Criminal Damage/SFMV all areas. 2.Haslam Park, Youth Disorder 3.Alley ways around Wellington Road (residents leaving bins out and dumping food waste in the backs) There have been 14 reports of various criminal damage this month, so this is a reduction on 19 the previous month. Although anti-social behaviour has been reduced on Haslam Park it does need to be kept as one of the priorities. An update meeting was held at Haslam Park and it was agreed that Youth Services need to carry out some out-reach work with local youths to find out what facilities they want/need before further progress can be made. Reports of various criminal damage are going to be categorised. With regards to the problem of waste being left in alleys etc, a letter to residents has been sent out asking them to take in their bins and not to dump their waste. Keith Sedgewick has also asked the Cleansing Dept to keep a check on this area. Tom Burns advised that residents cannot be forced to take their bins in but unless they do the council is unable to cleans the area.
