Area actions for December
Brook Street, Oxheys Park : Problems still identified with youths causing problems on Brook Street Park . They are congregating, drinking, setting fireworks and causing a general nuisance. There have been numerous reports made to the police of both crimes and anti-social behaviour. This is to remain a PACT priority until further improvements made.
Vehicle crime in the area has been highlighted as a major issue. Throughout the previous month there have been over 20 reported incidents involving theft from motor vehicles and criminal damage to motor vehicles.
Rubbish / Bins : Concerns have been raised over rubbish in the area particularly surrounding residents not taking their bins in following bin day allowing rubbish to accumulate. Concerns have been raised over bin fires being started during bon fire time and the subsequent weekend. Students in the area have been highlighted as causing some of this problem.
October
Miles Walk/Crofters Green area: This is to remain as a PACT priority. Problem remains that the arch is used as a shelter from the rain for youths to congregate, drinking, swearing and possibly drugs dealing. Calls to service still occurring albeit they have decreased. Numerous shed breaks have occurred in the area also and residents are to fearful to challenge the youths.
Plungington Road and the streets adjoining it: Inappropriate parking is still an issue however it is the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles that has been highlighted. Vehicles are heavy goods vehicles parking on double yellow lines and white zig zags causing obstructions on a narrow main road. It is mainly vehicles from local traders and businesses
Brook Street including Oxheys Park : Problems identified with youths congregating on the park causing anti-social behaviour. We have seen numerous robberies and thefts relating to youths on the park. There have been reported incidents of street drinking and foul language
